Senior Copywriter
Nixon is the category leader in the youth watch and accessory game. Since 1999 they have consistently been at the forefront of style and design while still maintaining the street cred in the action sports industry that has kept them at the top of the game. I helped them translate their history as well as their aspirations into the copy for their seasonal catalogs, then was asked to expand my scope into social media, web banners, in-store POP, and tradeshow copy. I wrote the brand’s voice and tone guidelines, defining the characteristics of the “Nixon voice.” Most recently, I have been building their SEO efforts with informative blog content.
Season 18.1 Catalog Needs
For the 18.1 season, Nixon wanted to get back some of the fun that had been missing in their copy for the last few years. Threading the needle of a fashion brand while maintaining a connection to their action sports roots was important for them to not lose sight of why customers are attracted to the brand in the first place. I helped craft the intro for each collection as well as product taglines and descriptions for the new men's watch and accessory products that kept one foot planted firmly on the side of fun while paying the due respect to the level of quality and class that the brand exudes.

I worked with the SEO manager at Nixon to create a series of content pieces designed to improve the brand’s organic search ranking for a variety of non-branded terms. The articles ranged from FAQ guides to self-service content and helped drive new traffic to Nixon.com.
